Top Ten Fall Decorating Ideas

|

This season, welcome fall into your home with a few easy decorating and entertaining ideas.  Here are my top ten favorite ideas for this time of year…

1. Seasonal Accents for the Front Door- The front door is such an easy place to decorate with a simple fall wreath.  Nothing says “welcome” like a lovely entrance, so celebrate the season with a beautiful fall-inspired wreath.

2. Fall Touches for the Front Porch- Why stop at the front door?  Adding a few pumpkins to your front porch is another easy way to enhance the entrance of your home.  Try wrapping a small garland of fall leaves around the base of the pumpkins for an extra special touch.

3. Fall Accents for the Living Room- Add an accent of fall color to your living room with a couple of new pillows or a throw blanket in pretty fall colors.  Take your cue from the beautiful shades of fall leaves like: gold, rust, orange and brown- be sure to look for fall colors that might complement your home’s existing color scheme.

4. Decorating with Fall Foliage and Leaves- Place a simple fall leaf garland on your fireplace mantle, or arrange a few stems of fall leaves in a tall vase, or add an arrangement of fall leaves to a large basket.  Bring the outdoors inside by adding some beautiful fall branches to your home’s décor.

5. Decorating with Seasonal Produce- For an easy, elegant touch to any table fill a bowl with small pumpkins and gourds or apples and pears- they look great and are readily available at any grocery store.  Be sure to tuck in a few stems of ivy to soften your arrangement for a more professional look.

9. Celebrate the Season in the Kitchen- The BEST way to add a touch of fall to your kitchen is by cooking delicious seasonal meals.  One of my favorites this time of year is: Pumpkin Bread…added bonus: your house will SMELL like fall!

10. Gratitudes for Fall- Be sure to take time out to be thankful for all of life’s little blessings.  Consider writing out your gratitudes on small pieces of paper and creating a jar to keep these in, or create your own “Thankful Tree” and hang your gratitudes from branches in a vase.  Whatever you do, spend time this season focusing on all that you have!

I hope these ideas will encourage and inspire you to celebrate the fall season in your home this year…even implementing one or two ideas will bring a special touch to your home!
