I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start thanks for stopping by the cottage today! I’m continuing on with my home tour and today I’m sharing photos from our kitchen.
Our kitchen and family room are really one big open room, which is one of my favorite things about this house! Though our home is not particularly large, this big open space is really the heart of our home.
Not long ago we added the two industrial metal and rope pendants over the island. I think the rope adds a bit of a nautical touch, and we have loved them.
By the way…this is what our kitchen looked like when we purchased our home:
What a difference, right!? We just painted the cabinets white, installed a new backsplash and removed the accent tiles on the island.
Definitely more our style now!!
I also love having a little chalkboard in the kitchen to write all sorts of things on …
White hydrangeas are a favorite flower of mine, I especially love them in simple Mason jars !
I have a few plans for this area when our budget allows … I would like to someday add hardwood floor’s to the family room /kitchen that match the ones in our living room and dining room . I think dark wood floors would look very nice with all the white cabinets and furniture . I would also like to enlarge our island and make it all counter height, but for now we absolutely love our kitchen !
We recently added a larger kitchen table to the breakfast area…
Our 13 year old pine table moved to the dining room making way for a larger kitchen table, with the addition of our son this year we needed more room !
Thanks so much for joining me today for more of our cottage tour.
Tomorrow we celebrate the one year anniversary of the adoption of our son Victor!! For those of you that have followed my blog and read the first part of our story in January I wanted to let you know that I will be posting the rest of our adoption story tomorrow. I hope you will come back and join me for that!!
