We love little family celebrations, and last week it was my husband’s birthday…so we decided to have some fun!
It doesn’t take much to make someone feel special…I pulled out my old handmade “happy” banner, then added a few balloons, flowers, a cake and a pretty present- these are all things one would normally do for someone’s birthday, so why not make them pretty!?
I picked aqua blue as the accent color, so blue balloons and tissue make it pretty and festive.
The cake was a no-brainer…my husband love ice cream cakes and I purchased this yummy Carvel ice cream cake from our local Publix grocery store. Putting a cake on a stand makes it feel a little more special, and I also made a fun handmade cake topper!
Pretty tissue, ribbons and another handmade tag, dress up a plain white gift bag.
Since I already had these white lilies for Easter, I just changed the tag on the vase…
I have collected rubber stamps over the years, and use them to make all kinds of things, like cards, tags and decor…I love this quote!
Everything came together nicely for a pretty party…
and all day, my slow cooker was doing the hard work preparing my husband his favorite dinner…
Spicy Slow Cooker Jambalaya!
(recipe is coming soon)
We had a wonderful time celebrating my husbands birthday, but I think everyone’s favorite was the yummy ice cream cake!!
Have a great day…see you soon!
