Just popping in today to share a fast and fun meal…if you like spicy food, this recipe is for you! I personally don’t LOVE spicy food, but my husband does, and this meal is one of his favorites!
What I like about it is how EASY it is to make. Basically gather all the ingredients, give everything a good chop and dump it in the slow cooker.
Next add the can of tomatoes and spices and give everything a big stir!
Then set your slow cooker for 8 hours and let it work it’s magic!!
30 minutes before serving, add the cooked shrimp, and my husband loves it when I add a bag of frozen okra as well.
This recipe was adapted from All Recipes Colleens Slow Cooker Jambalaya:
1 bag of frozen okra
- In a slow cooker, mix the chicken, sausage, tomatoes with juice, onion, green bell pepper, celery, and broth. Season with oregano, parsley, Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, and thyme.
- Cover, and cook 7 to 8 hours on Low, or 3 to 4 hours on High. Stir in the shrimp and frozen okra during the last 30 minutes of cook time.
