“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Recently we visited an amusement park, it was a busy day and the lines were long. I wasn’t surprised that my children grew impatient…but I was surprised at how grumpy and impatient I was that day!
Truth is, I hate waiting- lines at the deli counter in the grocery store, traffic jams on the highway, being put on hold with the cable company…all of these things drive me crazy.
To be completely honest, I also don’t enjoy waiting on Gods timing! Does it ever feel like God isn’t hearing your prayers? Or doesn’t care? Maybe it’s not that He doesn’t hear our prayers, but rather, knows what is best for us- even better than we do!
I have recently determined to learn the art of “waiting well”- that is trying to have more patience, make better use of my time while in a “holding pattern”, praising the Lord that HE is faithful and knows what’s best for me, and thanking Him for each of His blessings in my life. That way, when answered prayers do come…they will truly be worth the wait!
Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday,
