I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, I am so happy to share with you all some photos of updates in our Master Bedroom today. As you know, we have been undertaking the huge task of installing all new flooring downstairs and repainting all the walls- this is no easy thing to do while living there with 3 kids and a large dog, but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Most recently, we pulled out the old (and quite dirty) wall to wall carpeting in our Master Bedroom and replaced it with the same espresso-color wood-look porcelain tile that runs throughout the rest of the downstairs. We just completed it and it turned out great!
After the darker floors went in, I decided to lighten up the walls and LOVE the new color!
The wall color is soft and subtle, but still contrasts nicely with all our white furniture and bedding.
Since its spring, I decided to style the bed with a pop of pretty blue pillows.
Since we have a big open space in front of the bed, we decided to add a large area rug so we would have a “soft place” for the kids to play and our dog to lay his head…
I chose an inexpensive rug from Ikea, which adds softness and a little pattern to the room.
Our next step is to finish painting the walls (I ran out of time and paint that day!! 😉 and locate a pretty white armoire or tv cabinet for the wall opposite the bed…we finally sold our old Rooms to Go mahogany one that we have had for 12 years.
This little corner really needs some work!!
All that said, we are LOVING our new floors and wall color and are really pleased with everything we have done to the cottage this year.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week…
