We just finished decorating our upstairs playroom, and I could not be more pleased with the way it turned out!! Besides doing the whole room on a budget (nearly everything is from IKEA or thrift stores) I was able to feature some beautiful pillows from my friend and neighbor, Lea of Linnea Designs.
Lea's shop on Etsy is full of colorful and coastal items for your home like pillows and table linens- all of which I am obsessed with!! (When your house is mostly white and neutral like mine, you can have TONS of fun changing color schemes with pillows and table linens and accessories.)
For the playroom, my daughters and I selected a bright color scheme of aqua, orange and grey.
Lea's fabrics and colors are so fun, I asked if I could feature her shop on my blog and wanted to include this short interview…
When did you start your business?
In March 2013, after making the decorations for my sister in law's baby shower and my friend's wedding and being truly inspired by them!
What inspires your designs?
I am inspired by my love of color and my need to create. Sewing is a great way to incorporate both. The fabrics I use are incredibly inspirational. There are a handful of manufacturers that make stunning fabrics that I just can't get enough of!
If you could sum up your style in 3 words what would they be?
Colorful, coastal and happy!
What patterns/colors do you really LOVE right now?
I am in love with ikat, Moroccan lattice and damask prints. Turquoise, navy blue and coral top my list of favorite colors at the moment.
Where do you sell your items- online/retail?
I have two Etsy shops: LinneaDesigns which has items for the home including table runners, napkins, aprons & pillow covers. ForShoreBaby has coastal and nautical items for babies and children including bibs and burps cloths, clothing, beach hats. I also have my items in Wee Boutique which is a local children's shop and Manatee River Trading Company in Bradenton.
Do you have any plans to expand your business or product line?
I'm going to add adorable nautical soft toys for babies and embroidery options for most of my products.
Is there anything else you would like my readers/followers to know?
I love being inspired by others. I've had custom requests on Etsy that have turned into gorgeous items that I just have to offer to others. I name the item after the original customer and it adds even more of a personal touch and a story to those items, which I just love!
I just LOVE what Lea is doing and am sure I will be featuring more of her products on my blog in the future…here is the link to her Etsy shop… CLICK HERE
