I’m excited to share with you all the updates in our living room today. If you follow my blog then you probably know I have been wanting to make a few changes to this room…lately, I have been drawn to a more “clean coastal contemporary” look and less “French Country” look. Much of the furniture in my living room and dining room we have had for 15 + years, so it was indeed time for a few updates. Earlier this year, my living room looked like this:
so pretty, and I loved that room… but it was time for a change, and here we are today:
more clean lines, less clutter, a classic modern look with more contrast, but still plenty of coastal accents. I feel like we have finally joined the 21st century!
I’m not totally done with everything but I’m pleased with the way things are coming together…the simple lines of the new coffee table and mirror and shadowboxes really update the room giving it a more modern edge.
Coastal accents like my large clam shell and palm fronds in a vase keep that fresh “Florida” feel…
There are also lots of pops of mercury glass which I LOVE- it adds a little sparkle to the room!
(kindly disregard my reflection in the glass!!)
I love how things are coming together, and I’m still considering what to do with my old end tables and pair of French ladder back arm chairs (not in this photo) but will share that with you when I figure it all out!
Thanks again for stopping by today, I hope you like the changes as much as we do…I will be including a full source guide on the blog soon…you won’t believe how reasonable it was to make these updates. Also, this Friday I will be “revealing” some big updates in the dining room so be sure to come back to see those!
Wishing everyone a wonderful week…
