We all know how fabulous Target is, but I think Walmart is often overlooked and underappreciated…so I am on a personal campaign to make Walmart "cool" again!
(OK, this may be purely selfish, because I live in a more rural area, and the closest Target to me is 20 miles away and SuperWalmart is MUCH closer, and is my best option for convenient shopping, and I am there all the time, and I really do think they have better prices than Target)
but I am here to say, you can find some REALLY cool things at Walmart!!
So here is a recent Walmart discovery, I needed a small birthday gift for a friend I was meeting for lunch that week so I picked up some basic items and made this cute gift set:
The set included: a journal, bookmark, mini photo album, notecards, gift bag, tag, tissue and ribbon…everything was purchased at Walmart for under $10 with the exception of the stamps and ink, which I already had!
First, I purchased a 50 cent composition book and covered it with craft paper, a black grosgrain ribbon, and made a matching bookmark.
Next, I embellished 6 plain white cards and envelopes with stamped craft paper and tied the set with a large black ribbon and decorative tag.
Then, I purchased a small photo album and made a decorative cover with a matching stamped craft paper and quote and tied it with a ribbon as well.
While I was making this set, I made a second gift set, but with a monogram intead of a coastal theme…it turned out great too!
For the cost of a few simple supplies at Walmart, you can make lovely homemade gifts too!
