Thanks for stopping by the cottage today.
As promised, I’m here to share with you this super easy and elegant $10 DIY Gift Bag filled with lavender scented items!
The gift contains: lavender bath salts, body/foot scrub, candle, Yardley soap, and a purple mini-pedi kit.
Everything was purchased at Dollar Tree (with the exception of the small mason jars), then I made some cute tags and a card with a sweet lavender stamp.
I have always loved making “ordinary” things look more “extraordinary”… and pretty handmade tags and ribbons make this sweet little gift truly special!
These gifts would be fabulous for teacher appreciation week or birthdays or thank yous- you could even add a gift card to a local nail salon for a special “bonus” surprise!
I love to take a warm lavender bath before bed at night and this DIY scrub is so wonderful for your feet!!
The main ingredient is lavender scented Epsom salts from Dollar Tree!
Here is where I posted awhile back on how I make these…last time it was for a pretty Christmas gift…
This week I want to show you all a beautiful, easy and inexpensive gift- Lavender Bath Salts and Lavender Salt Scrub. The bath salts are great for a warm winter bath, epsom salt has soothing/healing properties for tired/achy muscles. The salt scrub can be used all over, or I like to use it as a foot scrub- the salt scrubs away dead skin and the oil moisturizes.
This gift is a wonderful alternative to sweets or baked goods (which we all have too much of over the holidays!!) The gift set is so nice, you will have to make one for yourself too- bonus- lavender is a great stress reliever- perfect for this stressful time of year. Here’s what you do:
All you need to get started are: mason jars and lids, epsom salt, oil (vegetable or canola are fine) and some decorative papers and ribbons. All supplies pictured here were purchased at our local Walmart Supercenter.
I purchased this large bag of lavender scented epsom salt at Walmart for $ !! If you can only find the unscented epsom salt, then you will need to add essential oils to the salts to make them scented- (note: I used lavender, but any scented essential oil will work)!
For the bath salts jar, simply fill the entire jar with the scented epsom salt- that’s it!!
For the salt scrub, fill the jar 2/3 full of scented epsom salt.
Then pour the oil on top and stir, making sure the oil is incorporated with all the salt- sometimes I add more salt to get a thicker, “grainier” scrub, just mix it to your desired consistency.
The scrub is on the left and the bath salts on the right, now just seal them up with their lids, that’s it!
Now, I like to make them look pretty by adding a ribbon and label and patterned paper to cover the lid, I also make matching cards and bag tags for an extra special touch.
I hope you give these a try for someone on your list…maybe even treat yourself to a relaxing foot scrub as well!
Have a wonderful week…
