February at Starfish Cottage -

Maybe it’s all the recent grey dreary winter days (which are usually quite rare here in Florida!) or maybe it’s Valentines Day around the corner, or maybe it’s me eager for springtime- but for whatever reason, I decided to add a little “pop of pink” to the cottage this month!

Full-disclosure: pink is NOT my husband’s favorite “look” for our home… but I only added two big pink pillows and a few pink flowers to our formal living room/dining room area- (which I have totally claimed as my office) so technically it’s my space! 😉

I’m always amazed at how a few minor tweaks and a pop of color can totally change the look of a room! (It helps that my whole house is mostly neutral so making changes is easy).

The pillows are a faux silk from Amazon…

The pink flowers are faux peonies from Michaels…although we occasionally get some fresh ones in our floral section at our local Publix (which I prefer, so I will definitely be on the lookout this month!)

Converting our NEVER USED formal dining room into my personal home office space is still one of the best decisions we ever made- I truly love working in this space. (We actually pulled up a few chairs and used it as an extra dining table this past Christmas and it worked beautifully for us!) Never be afraid to “think out of the box” and repurpose a room in your home.
