Thanks for joining me today at Starfish Cottage!
I feel so blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of B-Home Bloggers, and even more excited to join their Fall Blog Hop this week!
Today I am sharing a little preview of the cottage decorated for fall…well, “Florida Fall” that is! You see, down here in the Sunshine State, we don’t get the gorgeous changing of the leaves or crisp, cooler temperatures- so decorating for fall is a little tougher.
Last year, I decorated the cottage in more “traditional” fall colors:
You can read more about that HERE
BTW- It so easy to change up the look of the cottage, ever since I neutralized the “big stuff” and developed my 80/20 Style…click HERE to learn more!
This year, though I decided to embrace the abundant greens and blues that we DO have in Florida this time of year, and of course, add a coastal spin on fall! I am sharing just a few photos from around the house, but will share more photos and details in the next few weeks…so come on in!
The Living Room-
I didn’t go too crazy in here- (I really like a simple, relaxed, peaceful space) just added a few creamy white pumpkins to the coffee table and a mix of sage green and soft grey-blue pillows to the sofa.
The Dining Room-
The focal point of my dining room is my big, beautiful wood dough bowl, and for fall, I filled with assorted pumpkins, eucalyptus and juniper berries- and don’t forget the starfish, conch shells and coral!! 😉 😉
The Family Room-
Moving on to the family room, I added a few large sage green pillows mixed with khaki and white accent pillows, as well as a large vase of green leaf branches- since we don’t get the change of seasons here, I thought green leaves would feel more “fall” than my usual palm fronds…
A simple pitcher of eucalyptus, lambs ear and juniper berries adds a seasonal touch to the kitchen island, and then used again as the centerpiece for an early fall dinner.
All of my place settings incorporate coastal accents and this one is no different- plenty of coral and starfish and seashells for this fall table!
I repeated the accents of sage greens and browns in our bedroom…
I even added this cute pumpkin from JoAnnes!
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my little tour of Starfish Cottage- this year, I really tried to add a light coastal touch to fall, because it’s so important to let your home reflect YOUR distinct style, and what you love!
