Recently, I helped a friend with her mom’s wedding…I always love to help plan weddings and large events! The wedding had a beachy/coastal theme, and we needed some large arrangements for the entry and buffet tables, so I wanted to share with you all how to make these easy, elegant and AFFORDABLE floral arrangements!
I started with several faux white orchid stems (these are from Walmart, and they run about $5 each- they are very large and really pretty!) I mixed in a few other green accent stems. I used white because it was a wedding (and, lets face it, we all know white is my favorite “color”!) These arrangements look great with any large colored flower- so get creative!
Then, I went to the yard and cut lots of fresh palms and tropical plants…these really add the “wow” factor and make such a dramatic focal point.
Finally, I filled large glass cylinder vases with water, trimmed everything to fit, and mixed in the faux orchid stems and accent stems. I made three large arrangements, and before they went to the wedding- I placed them around the cottage…
This one wound up on the media cabinet in the family room…love how it looks, but I am pretty sure my hubby would object to the large palm frond in front of the flat screen tv!!
The second one went on the dining room table with my two large hurricane vases…
and the last one I placed on our Entry table. It looks great with all the white pumpkins and puts a “casual, coastal, tropical spin” on fall decor!!
