Here's a fast and fun little DIY for a fabulous "State-Inspired" artwork.
You will need colorful, decorative scrapbook papers- color of your choice. An 8 x 10 print out of your state of choice, scissors, a pencil and adhesive- (glue stick or tape runner), also if you have one, a heart shaped punch.
First, use your scissors to cut out the silhouette (outline) of your state, then place the cutout on white cardstock and trace around the outline.
Next, cut out the shape of the state on the white cardstock.
Now you will punch (or cut) out the heart shape from the paper of your choice.
Finally, select the paper you want for your backgound- I used two kinds,
a "burlap" patterned one here, paired with an aqua heart.
and then this one with an aqua patterned background and coral color heart.
Once you select your patterns, adhere the state silouhette to the background and then adhere the heart to the area of your choice.
I chose Tampa Bay area, since that's where we live!
I love this little project and can't wait to hang it up somewhere special…
