I know that mason jar ideas are EVERYWHERE on the internet.
But I think it's because they are so darn cute.
And easy to make.
So I thought I would put a "Starfish Cottage coastal spin" on mason jars.
First, I painted several several jars white. By the way, I have gotten so thrify I don't even buy mason jars anymore- although they are not very expensive- I have just been saving glass jelly jars and pasta sauce jars and removing the labels- they work GREAT!
I also painted a few metal soup cans at the same time, but haven't done anything with them yet.
Then I added all sorts of fun, thrifty, coastal elements to the jars like burlap ribbon and twine and little tags…
And sand and seashells and starfish…
and candles and wildflowers and seagrass…
Each jar has it's own little "personality" and use- some are vases, some are candle holders, some are merely decorative.
They all turned out great and look so cute when grouped together in a vignette or table centerpiece.
These would be wonderful for your next coastal wedding or event or as beach house decor! (I am even thinking of adding a few of them to my Etsy shop, Starfish Trading Company.
Stay tuned all this month as I introduce you to each of them!
