Hello I hope everyone is having a wonderful week thanks for stopping by Starfish Cottage today! I have photos and details from our family room decorated for the holidays to share with you…
The family room is the true hub of our home, it opens directly onto our kitchen and dining area and this is where we spend most of our time! I love this space for it open plan living, and though it is not large it feels spacious especially since I kept the walls and most of the larger items a soft white.
This year for the holidays I kept things light, bright, airy and coastal with pops of my accent color- a soft gray blue.
I also kept things very simple this year- no garland or fussy decorations on every surface, just a couple of pretty wreaths and ornaments and candles and fresh greenery.
I really wanted it to feel like a Florida Christmas which is different than everywhere else, right now the weather is gorgeous (highs in the upper 70’s) and very low humidity.
Natural items are my favorite things to decorate with year-round and Christmas is no different- pinecones and pine branch clippings mix beautifully with palm fronds and seashells, don’t you think??
Here’s a view towards the kitchen of the sofa…
Thanks again for stopping by…I will be back next week with photos of the kitchen and dining areas and a fabulous “Coastal Christmas” table setting!
