Thanks so much for stopping by Starfish Cottage! I hope it’s starting to cool off a little where you live. I’m sad to report, Florida is still H-O-T hot, it doesn’t feel much like fall right now…oh well…looking forward to our milder weather this winter…
In lieu of pumpkins and fall leaves, I’ve decided to try something new this month here at the cottage. It’s a little trendy, but I’m having fun styling the cottage with a few “boho chic” accents! I’m putting a coastal spin on it and calling my new style “Beachy Boho”.

For me, “Beachy Boho” is lighter, brighter and airier version of the normal Boho look, which usually has layers of rich colors and busy patterns. “Beachy Boho” (my newly invented style) mixes just a few Boho elements like an embroidered or woven textured pillow in a neutral room. It has quite a bit of white, with accents of black and pops of color. It also has lots of natural elements like greenery and natural wood tones…and maybe a few touches of gold.
The “Beachy Boho” look is highly textured and layered but with neutral tones and a lighter touch. I really like this look for fall since all the textures have such a warm feeling!
Woven accents like baskets and fringe and macrame details are so popular right now and add another layer of texture and interest to your room.
I think “Beachy” and “Boho” styles work wonderfully together and I’m excited to show you how I am incorporating some elements around the cottage this month- so be sure to stop by all month to see how I’m incorporating the look!!
