Thanks so much for stopping by the cottage today! As you all may have heard, Hurricane Irma is barreling towards Florida and I won’t pretend that I’m not worried! Although our home here on Tampa Bay is not currently in the “direct hit” path one little turn to the west could make a big difference to us. So we would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers at this time. Now on with today’s post!!
All this month, I thought it might be fun to add a few touches of my favorite new “trendy” decor to the cottage… I’m talking about “Boho Chic”, and I’m putting a coastal spin on boho style calling it, “Beachy Boho”. Here are a few photos from our Living Room area…
Sometimes just adding a few new items can really update a room…like these “boho” inspired pillows- one faux fur and one fringey one…
I’m also slowly adding some “fall” touches to the cottage, (trying to keep it more natural and local this year) I recently trimmed a tree in our yard and used the large branches in a big vase (ok, so the leaves are still green, but we don’t get the beautiful colorful fall leaves here in Florida- just trying to “keep it real”)!
I guess these branches, even though the leaves are green look a little more like “fall” than my usual palm fronds!! I just love the way they look.
Another touch of fall are the baby white pumpkins I added to my giant clam shell…they always mix in so nicely with all the other seashells and coral!
Maybe you have guessed, but I’m trying to go more “minimal” and natural with my fall decor this year. I have been feeling the need to “lighten up” my decor and keep things a little simpler recently… and to be honest, it’s so much easier!
I love the rich, layered fall look in other homes and blogs, but here in Florida- it just feels too hot.
So for now, we are enjoying our lighter, “beachy boho” look with touches of fall and I hope you do too!
